Starting from the idea that gold carries a memory that extends beyond mere structural recollection, I set out to liberate gold from its traumatic colonial history and return it to the natural cycle — to release it from the grasp of power dynamics. By using a gold solution absorbed through the root system of the star-of-Bethlehem plant, the gold is meant to be restored to an original state. The plant’s reputed trauma-relieving properties are intended to free the gold from its violent past, initiating a healing transformation of the material.
