While I play a monotonous drumbeat, I recite text passages from Claude Levi Strauss's ‘Das wilde Denken’ and Martin Gardner's ‘The Ambidextrous Universe’. The dancer Tarren Johnson uses an object I have prefabricated with hundreds of key blanks to perform ‘ritual’ actions. The sound she creates in the process responds to the beats of the drums.
